Secondary School
Come and experience, explore, and discuss art. At De Pont Museum, pupils discover contemporary art in a variety of ways. They can join a guided tour through the exhibitions and the rotating collection or visit the museum independently. Bookings can be made up to two weeks before the visit. Cancellations are free of charge up to 48 hours in advance.
Guided Tour for Pupils
During the interactive guided tour, pupils discover the world of the artist. The guide encourages them to look closely, reflect, and discuss what they see. Together, they investigate the meaning of art and discover that everyone looks, thinks, and feels differently.
The tour takes in the exhibitions and the collection presentation, where works from our collection of over a thousand pieces are shown in changing displays. When booking, there is space to indicate the subject or purpose of the visit – for example, in preparation for exams – so that the guide can tailor the tour to the needs of the group
Duration: 60 minutes
Cost: €90 per group (incl. teachers and accompanying adults)
Group size: max. 15 pupils per group
Independent Visit
Upper secondary school pupils can also visit De Pont Museum independently, without a guide. During their visit, they explore the exhibitions and rotating collection presentation in small groups of up to four pupils. In this way, they learn to look, make associations, and find meaning in contemporary art at their own pace.
We recommend that teachers or accompanying adults briefly discuss with pupils what to expect at the museum beforehand. An independent visit calls for attention, calm, and curiosity – precisely what De Pont Museum aims to inspire in pupils. Are 15 or more pupils coming? Then registration is required via e-mail.

At De Pont Museum, we aim to keep the experience of viewing art as unobstructed as possible. This means that there are virtually no barriers, ropes, or glass in front of the artworks, and that some objects stand freely in the space. Please discuss with pupils in advance the importance of keeping a safe distance and remaining alert when moving through the museum. Leaning, hanging, or sitting against the walls is also not permitted.
Please respect the museum experience of other visitors and be mindful of noise levels.
Finished with your assignment? Please make your way to the museum café, the garden, or the square in front of the museum. Consuming your own food or drink in the café or on the terrace is not permitted.
