The narrator in Walking and Talking wanders about in a museum of contemporary art in London. She realizes that, as a Moroccan artist and an immigrant, she does not identify with the museum and the works. This art- which she always presumed was universal - does not speak her language. When creating and observing she must constantly relate to the norms, values and legacy of the Westerner. Walking around and talking, she says, is actually the only act that has not been borrowed. This is consequently where the emphasis lies in this film. It isn't difficult to recognize the narrator's words as being those of the artist, who thus gives shape to the discussion about art and identity in a poignant manner.
