Seeing and being seen is the principal theme in this short film portrait by Hamza Halloubi. By way of a simple movement of the camera he creates an exciting and unexpected perspectival shift that causes the viewer’s and the portrait subject’s lines of sight to become entangled. In doing so Halloubi confronts the viewer with his/her voyeuristic and biased attitude. This gives rise to the question: who, in fact, is watching whom? Furthermore, Halloubi shows us how strongly we believe in the image. He allows us to see that the world is bigger than the context presented to us by the artist.
