I’m interested in human nature. Human nature makes the world an amalgam of chaos and horror and at the same time of beauty and ingenuity. Cultural and natural processes have an influence on this and they can hardly be distinguished from one another. My work deals with this and the processes mentioned are reflected in the working process. Every picture, every object, each project is a result of forces affecting each other. Clear and concise meetings of heterogeneous elements from very different origins and with very different connotations take place in a field, in a space. Growing and building, flowing and crashing combined in a syncretic way.
My thoughts and ideas develop when it comes to ‘resistance’, when friction occurs from dealing with concrete matter. A picture is a physical object shaped from successive actions and at the same time it is a model for something because of its potential to refer and symbolize. The parts of an image are flints. I flick them and the image comes to existence when a spark spreads to the branches of reality.
